About Alexis

Hi, I’m Alexis and I am an experienced yoga teacher from Cheshire.

I have been practising a variety of yoga styles for over 30 years, including Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin. However in 2011 I discovered Dru yoga and decided this is what I would love to train in.  So in 2016 I began training as a Dru yoga teacher at the International School of Dru Yoga, in beautiful Snowdonia.

My training includes over 200 hours of learning in anatomy and physiology, postures, breathing techniques, and lesson planning. I utilise all of this knowledge in my yoga classes.
The International School of Dru yoga is registered with the Yoga Alliance and the Independent Yoga Network (UK).

As a health care scientist for 30 years, I have always been fascinated by how the body works. Particularly what it is that makes people different and yet the same. Dru yoga recognises the differences in peoples bodies and the postures and sequences can be modified which makes them accessible to all. My other interests include both ayurveda and meditation and I have completed courses in ayurvedic diet and lifestyle and in both vipassana and transcendental meditation.

Yoga is a holistic experience of the body, heart and mind to bring about a feeling of balance, relaxation and harmony. Helping to relieve the pressures of modern day living.
